Let the Fun Begin!

June 25, 2018 by Joel and Andi

Time to load up and come to conference

We have been building up for the past 6 months for these next few weeks.  Soon we have meetings with many of our church planting teams to discuss strategy.  After that we are off to our field wide conference. We have people coming in from all over West Africa.  It has been so fun watching them come and connecting with them as they arrive.  It is a little like a big family reunion as many of these folks don’t see each other except during these gatherings, every 3 years.

These rare moments together are so important for us

During our time together we will get to hear what God is at work doing all over.  We will also get to talk about important challenges we are facing as a field.  We will get to study God’s word and worship together.  And of course there will be sports and swimming.  What is not to be excited for about this time?

There will even be a session on 4 x 4 driving

We have a team coming from Vancouver to help us with our kids program.  We are so excited to be receiving this team and so thankful for all the work they have done to make this possible.  After the conference we will be hosting them and showing them around our town to give them a glimpse of our ministry.

So you can be praying for us as there are still always last minute details to work out and other details that I am sure will arise.  Pray that these next few weeks will be an encouragement to our field.  Pray for the team coming that they will get here safely and that their time here will be a blessing to them as well as to us.  Pray for us as we have been running hard gearing up for this time that we will be able to breathe and enjoy the time when it arrives.

This past month was crazy for us
We hosted a lady from one of our villages who needed medical attention and cared for her
We traveled
We celebrated a last meal before Ethan got braces
I have been working a lot with the kids from our church
And Joel has been trying to prepare everything he can for these meetings
Pray with us for all the details to come together
And that this time will end up being a refreshment and encouragement to all

Praaying for you, that all attendees would be refreshed and enouraged ….. and helped with the difficulties they face. I am impressed with the setter-upper, like the details of decorative towels for guests! I am sure every detail is appreciated so keep using your talents, big and small.

I am thinking and praying for you during your conference. Hopefully refreshment will be an encouragement to all as you play, pray and plan together.
