After 10 out of 16 days away from home, I staggered back home to my sweet family. They really needed me but were thoroughly in God’s care while I was gone.
I was in Austin Texas for a big Media and Communications conference for seven days and I came home invigorated and intrigued by new ideas…and I came home to a sick family. Bethany and all three kids were dealing with persistent sinus infections, some of which were so bad they required multiple trips to doctors office.
But they were kept well as God sustained them and even provided some timely help from my brother and his wife!
Now the great news I alluded to in the title of this post, comes in the form of a person. A person motivated by God to use their skills as a writer in a full time capacity on our team here! I’ve asked you to pray in the past that skilled people would respond to God’s motivation and join our team as we’re very understaffed. One person came along quickly and we now have a new full time staff writer occupying one of the desks in our writer’s “Bullpen.” I can’t describe how encouraging it is to have another person on our team, adding to the energy and enthusiasm of our team! Thank you for praying! And…it gets better! We have another full time experienced writer who will join our team along with two other creative people hopefully later this year!
God is encouraging us in a big way as people respond and choose to use their skills for His purposes! Great News!
We also got some disappointing news. We are in an active search for the right school for Jack this coming Fall and got our hopes up as we learned about a dynamic Arts Magnet School less than two miles from our house. After visiting it, we were really excited about how good of a fit it might be for our little artist Jack! We also learned that though we’re in the zone/district it’s in, because it’s such a desirable school, they can’t accommodate every student. They award seats by a lottery and sadly, we didn’t get picked…yet. We have hopes that he’ll get in, in the future, but for the Fall of 2013, we’re still searching.
Would you pray for wisdom and discernment in this big decision? We want to see Jack thriving, educationally. So does our Heavenly Father. That’s not disappointing!
