Update on Jack’s Health

April 16, 2018 by Joel Potter

Jack was born with a deficiency in his immune system. Think of it like he is missing part of it. He was born with the inability to produce ‘Immunoglobulin-a’, part of the immune system that affects his respiratory and GI systems. We’ve known this for the last few years and been able to manage this deficiency pretty well with the help of some specialists and medication.

However, since January 2018 his symptoms have significantly ramped up and really affected his life in hard ways. He’s missed a lot of school and other social activities. While we made an appointment to see another specialist in a new hospital system over in St. Petersburg, his GI symptoms have acutely increased and he has needed some emergency intervention.

Will you pray that God allows his body to miraculously begin to regulate his GI system, even just a little bit? And will you pray for our initial appointment with the new doctor? That takes place TOMORROW. Jack has had a lot of pain and discomfort since Tuesday of last week.

We have a young man in our church with exceedingly painful & debilitating headaches of unknown cause. He has been sick for many months. I will use his condition as a reminder to pray for you. His name is Benji. I think he is about 14.

Have you considered food allergies? This often goes along with autoimmune deficiency. Mikayla was diagnosed with leaky gut, and has taken enzymes to help break down the proteins. Over the counter enzymes called Serenaid have worked best for her, but there are many kinds.
