We need you to pray! It’s come down to the last few weeks we can wait to make the “go/no-go” decision on this ministry trip to Thailand. We’ve prayed all along that the Lord would make clear to us whether we should go, based on if the right solution could be found. A few possibilities did not […]

January 2022 to now As we started the new year with aspirations to produce a year-end video and give you a glimpse at what was coming next, we ended up hobbling along with some sickness and then needed to dive into our first video shoot of the year, a weeklong shoot with two instructors. Then, […]

How are our kids doing? At this moment, the kids are doing well. We’ve kept just enough semblance of sanity with Jack being at in-person student at his school (he only physically goes to class two days a week and does the rest of his classwork from home) and Owen and Kate both being virtual at the charter […]

Momentum is Building These past few weeks, the word “momentum” has been on our minds. Depending on your point of view, the events taking place and gaining momentum in our world could be seen as good or just plain bad (a certain virus out there…).  As we think about it, we realize some things don’t […]

After 4,000 miles what could possibly be next?

The great western road trip was AWESOME! Between the privilege of seeing, from the ground, the incredible country we’re privileged to live in and all of the people we were able to connect with we were really encouraged. After the trip west, in which we drove from central Florida to central California and back, we settled […]

We just posted a big Year in Review post on our bl We just posted a big Year in Review post on our blog and to the email list. As you know, a whole lot of life happened in 2022 and it's likely that 2023 will be no different. We'd love to fill you in.

Take a look at it on the blog OR you can listen to it. Listening is a super-simple way to keep up with us when you can't read. Like while you're taking the kids to school or walking your pup.

You can find links to LISTEN or READ at my profile site.

To “tend a loved one in decline” - part 2 The To “tend a loved one in decline” - part 2

The beautiful thing is how the light breaks through the fog. If the responsibility, the challenges, the emotional heaviness is the fog, the grace of the gracious high-priest, Jesus, is that light that for now makes the fog glow with incredible beauty and will one day burn off the fog.

And for now, the wise words of Douglas McKelvey are a comfort:

“Love is wearying in this way, and even we who deeply love the ones we serve, need grace upon grace upon grace lest we despair. For in our giving, we are ever drained and so often depleted. We long for what we are too long without: respite and refreshment. So be our rest, O Christ, when there is no other rest to find.”
