Alive and well

June 30, 2026 by Joel Potter

As we head into summer, have a little glimpse at how we’re doing following Joel’s successful trip to Papua New Guinea.

First of all, THANKS so much for praying with us during the trip. Not only did he and his team have a sweet time capturing stories from three different parts of the country, but Bethany and the home-team had a good time while he was gone. That included a three day drive home from Missouri during which time Joel was traveling to PNG.

On the home front, we’re doing OK. Big things like summer camp for Kate, a new job for Owen and Jack gearing up to attend Ethnos360 Bible Institute this Fall are what are on our minds at home.

At the office, Joel and his team have much to do as they catalog, backup and start to work with the huge amount of media they came home with as well as start another even bigger project, one that will likely take them all back to PNG early next year.

Another project that launched right as we were leaving for our our trip, was the Ethnos360 Podcast. That’s been out for several weeks now and six episodes are available to listen and watch at all the the places you look for podcasts. This is a project that Joel was thrilled to finally see become a reality. He and his team continue to learn about this medium and would love your feedback if you would follow or subscribe and listen!

What Next? A few things to be aware of:

Interface, the six-week long, college missions experience that was part of what Joel covered in PNG, just wrapped up. Over 30 students from all over the US, including some from of our Missouri sending church, are heading back into their home areas, processing the last six weeks of amazing and formative experience. Pray for them as many of them will consider training and serving with Ethnos360 in a longer capacity. We ask the Lord to send more laborers into the field!

Jack is really gearing up to go to Bible Institute! Please pray for him as he raises moving and setup funds while working hard to save for his needs there and mentally prepares to leave home. We’re in awe of what the Lord is doing in his life. It looks so uniquely “Jack’ish” and yet we know that God delights in each step Jack takes towards Him in this. Pray much for us all as we prepare for this big transition in the next two months!

Last Words:

If you want to help Jack with his “moving and setup fund” check out his GoFundMe here…
Check out a post from the Instagram account for Interface. The group in this post visited the same village and church that Joel did!
