In our previous episode…
We shared our excitement at the possibility of MAJOR relocation and a new team to serve with while also introducing the work we saw God asking us to do right now while we evaluate things.
Since then…
We have decided to remain in Florida. We believe God has shown us that the kind of change that comes with a big move would not be the best for our family at this time. As we choose to stay put, we identify with Jim Elliot’s quote: “Wherever you are, be all there! Live to the hilt every situation you believe to be the will of God.” We desire to be “wholly” present in this decision. Pray with us for that.
Wherever you are, be all there! Live to the hilt every situation you believe to be the will of God.

It’s Summer! The kids are on summer break. Jack’s working and saving for future school and a car. Owen’s got a job at the nearby “Homes of Ethnos360” on their grounds crew and enjoying the financial freedom that a job finally affords him 😉 And Kate just returned from her trip to Kansas City where she had a great time (despite a sudden bout of sickness in the middle of the week). She’s also volunteering at our library this summer.
Bethany is working hardest of us all as she continues to clean houses, organize moves, and whatever she can to fill up three days a week. We’re able to put most of what she is earning towards our debt which we hope to see paid off by this time next year. It’s physically demanding work and she’s tired. But there is a purpose behind it and that is fulfilling. Pray for her health and energy.
Joel’s media work is increasing and rewarding as he works more closely with the Ethnos360 Mobilization Team. You’ll remember that when he moved into the role of videographer, it was at a time where he had to become immediately productive and that left little time to learn his tools. So he’s been spending time taking some courses and doing other things to “level up” his abilities. Hopefully there will soon be some content on Ethnos360 channels that we can share with you.
Coming Up…
We’re considering the invitation of another ministry team. As God is leading us to stay put, He is also presenting the possibility for a team that both Bethany and I could serve on as much as we could give. It would be a pretty ironic move too, I’ll leave it at that 🤫
We’re asking the Lord to provide our needs as we work on our debt. Our finances can get extremely tight at times with no room for emergencies as we put all we can towards debt. We ask you to pray regularly for us in this season. This work is hard and tiring and at times we feel anxious at the lack we see BUT we feel that we must do all we can do while we ask the Lord to provide. If He moves you to help, you can give here
In this season, we find God taking us back to a familiar theme: walk with ME day by day, not getting ahead of ourselves but resting in the safety of his light, finding our needs met in him because He is our deepest need and He gives freely to us.
