Fun Foto Friday #17

April 18, 2014 by John and Asmara Anyan

This week, we are thoroughly enjoying our Easter break (or, as John re-named it, Resurrection Week break) as we…

soak up the sunshine

recover from RSV (both boys got it)

read, read, read

cherish the extra time we have with our little family

recharge before our last month of school

eat Easter candy

enjoy friends and fellowship

and attempt to potty train (but never mind that, we decided to postpone after Judah was not very cooperative)

With all that going on, it’s easy to forget what Resurrection Week is all about — Jesus Christ. As we thought about how we can focus on Christ during these Easter days, John had the wonderful idea of serving others by making lots of cookies and delivering them to some of our friends and neighbors who stayed on campus over the break. We taught Judah to say “By His wounds we are healed” and went from door to door to deliver cookies. Judah rarely got past “By…” before he got too embarrassed,  but he did manage to say the whole thing once :).

So, in light of Good Friday, let’s remember Christ’s amazing, justifying, undeserved sacrifice.

Judah helping me make cookies (which mainly involved eating raw cookie batter when I wasn't paying attention)

Judah found a dead turtle on our way! He thought it was pretty cool, I thought it was pretty gross.
