Mother’s Day is bittersweet for me.
Before we had children, it was a stinging reminder of what we desired so desperately, but, for some reason, couldn’t have. Now that we have been given 2 little boys, it is a day of hugs and kisses and being pampered, while still remembering that for many women, Mother’s Day just isn’t the joyful day that it’s all made out to be.
With that in mind, we spent last Sunday going to church, being thankful for our beautiful moms, honoring other women (and not just mothers), enjoying lunch with friends, baking a cake, and remembering that God is fully good and fully sovereign, regardless of our life circumstances or our capacity to understand His ways.

Very well said. Brought tears to my eyes! Not only shd mothers be recognized on that day but those who pray to be mothers! I was told I probably wd never have children due to health issues. I’m so very blessed to get 2. Plus one in heaven, that I know I will get to meet someday! Being a mother is such an amazing gift from a wonderful God!:)
Lindsay, thanks so much for your comment. So many women have experienced the pain of infertility or lost babies… you are right, being a mother is an amazing gifts that we so often take for granted or even burdensome. Thanks again!
