Fun Foto Friday #49

January 24, 2015 by John and Asmara Anyan

“Maaaaaamaaaaaaaa!” Judah runs as fast as his little legs and light-up Spiderman shoes can carry him across the soccer field. His face shines with a wide grin as he races toward me and gives me a hug that would make any mother-heart melt. Elias is not far behind as he half-runs-half-stumbles while chanting the one word that he has perfected so far: “Ma-ma, Ma-ma, Ma-ma…” He plants a slobbery kiss on my lips and then clings to my leg just to make sure I don’t go anywhere without him…

The reward for being gone from my boys all morning is coming home to welcomes like that. Priceless!

This week was our first week of the new semester, which brought many changes to our little Anyan family. For one, John has taken on the role of stay-at-home Daddy and has done a marvelous job not just managing the home and taking care of the boys, but also training them, teaching them, and nurturing them. I’m so very thankful for a husband who is so supportive to me and so proactive as a father!

Here’s what the kids are doing when Daddy’s running the show:

1. They wear funny outfits.

Daddy! I look like a
Daddy! I look like a lumberjack without pants!
You find a superman outfit in the free clothes pile...
You find a superman outfit…
...and have to show off....
…and have to show off….
...your mad superhero skills!
…your mad superhero skills.

2. They spend lots of time outside.

Rocks are the best
Rocks make me happy
Hangin' with Daddy is FUN

Could he be any cuter?

And here’s what the parents are doing:

John has only lost part of his sanity so far:

And I’m staying fairly sane as well, as I just started my semester of “Linguistics” (the study of languages). For now, that means:

– Class time from 8AM – 12PM

– Afternoon homework session from 1:20PM – 2:20PM

– Several hours of homework at night

Ling, Ling, Ling!
My little linguistics world where I spend many hours analyzing languages

Thanks for being part of our journey!!!

Your little linguistics world looks fun (your lighting is totally the kind of lighting I love to do work… just a little lamp). Some days I miss the times when I spent all my time doing college homework… I fail a lot more at mommy hood than I did at homework!! I don’t think I still have the same brain I did back then though. And I bet John is doing great at taking on stay at home daddy role!!
