The PD Weekly: September 28

September 28, 2013 by Jordan Husband

Elayne and Titus next to their cousin, Janelle
Our kids and their cousin, enjoying a first 'slumber party' experience together!
This has certainly been a week for much-appreciated fellowship! The time was book-ended on one side with a visit from my brother Josh and his family, who are among our closest friends in the world. It went all too quickly, but was refreshing and very encouraging! And now that the week is coming to a close, we are enjoying other bookend – time with my grandparents from Canada. In addition to simply enjoying their company and conversation, we always appreciate the opportunity to learn from their experience as career missionaries with SIM in Nigeria.

Amy and I had the opportunity to take five meetings this week – and enjoyed each chance God gave us to encourage others about taking the Gospel to Mexico’s unreached people groups. In many ways we are very tired right now, but God has encouraged and strengthened us through the response of these sweet brothers and sisters we’ve met with… seeing the depth of their love for the Lord, and having a long-desired opportunity to grow closer friendships with many! God has also continued to grow our team of partners, and our pledged support level has risen another percentage point (now estimated at 51-53%).

Praising God: for the specific manner in which He has sustained us! I can think of no better encouragement than the excitement of other believers about what God is doing to reach the unreached.

Prayer Request: that God would grant my grandparents safe travels as they proceed from here to Seattle, north across the Canadian border to visit my uncle, and then back on the long road to central Alberta.
