Titus and Elayne, jumping with excitement as they cheer on the Seahawks!
Elayne and Titus really got the whole 'cheer on the Seahawks in the Super Bowl' concept!
God continues to clarify the timing of our family’s transition to Mexico, and we still feel a bit like Dorothy caught up in that Kansas tornado! Everything swirls around us at an incredible rate, and as the dust settles it’s amazing to see how much is changing. We find this tightening our focus on the work God is already doing in Mexico today – and are excited to share with you some of the updates we’ve been hearing!

In previous blog post, we’ve shared with you how God is working through Pete and Liesl Hypki among the Nahuatl people. Witnessing first-hand the hopeless sadness death brings in that community, Pete looks forward to sharing the hope believers find in Christ – even when the graveyard beckons. As the Hypkis serve among the Nahuatl for their third year, their ability to proclaim God’s Word clearly grows ever closer… and we cannot wait to hear of the first Nahuatl person finally getting to know all that God has done for them!

Elsewhere in Mexico, Ryan and Rebecca Beachy serve in supporting the church planting efforts of church planters. In a recent update they share some of the experience they and their children encounter while living as ‘outsiders’ in a different culture. We read their descriptions with great curiosity, knowing that all too soon it will be our family learning a new perspective on walking with the Lord through life!

Prayer Requests:

  • It continues to appear that we will soon be able to set specific dates for our transition to service in Mexico. Please pray for clear leading from the Lord, though we already see Him directing this process!
  • Tax season is upon us again – please pray that God will allow us to work through this project quickly and accurately!
  • A wonderful friend of ours has been diagnosed with stage four cancer, with this news coming seemingly from nowhere. Please pray for C as she looks to God during this time. To see her healed now would be a clear exhibition of God’s amazing power, and we greatly desire to see God glorified through this time!

Giving Thanks:

  • God continues to add partners to our team at an encouraging rate… we see Him stirring up passion among others for extending the reach of His Word, and are greatly blessed by each person who comes alongside us in serving Him!
  • The long journey to find a replacement laptop is now at an end… and before the old one quit! The details have nearly been finalized, and we are grateful to have this project off our long-term checklists.
  • This past week, I (Jordan) reached my first weight loss goal after thirteen months of strength training and calorie-counting. Thirty pounds down… only twelve-and-a-half to go until I reach the next milestone!

I was cheering like Elayne and Titus too! The Seahawks did so well!! The best part was at the parade
in Seattle. Even with a million people there, there was not one arrest! That took God’s protective
hand to accomplish. His protective hand is upon you too as you seek and obey to serve Him.
    Love you all, Grammie/GiGi
