The Long Way ‘Round: July 2

July 2, 2025 by Jordan Husband

Hanging out at EBI, the Bible School formerly known as NTBI Waukesha!
Amy and I attended here; both Elayne and Titus have interest in following suit.

More than a month has now passed since we left Chihuahua, and time continues flying. Each stop in our journey shares two common themes: the first being that the fellowship was even sweeter than we hoped, full of encouragement in Lord and reminders of His faithfulness. The second? Each visit has come to an end far too quickly, no matter whether it lasted a pair of hours or several days. I do not suppose we really expected things to go any differently, but the reality of this truth has definitely hit home. Our days are full of both reunion’s joy and bittersweet farewells ‘until next time,’ one after another in quick succession. Each coming-together is well worth this cost, and also quite tiring! Once again, God reminds us of the joy awaiting us when He brings all His promises to pass, and together in eternity with Jesus we bid farewell to the very concept of ‘goodbyes.’

As the calendar continues moving forward, we do feel the accumulation of time spent living out of suitcases. We had wonderful visits in each place our last update mentioned, then enjoyed stops with dear friends in both Illinois and Wisconsin as well. Most days, we find ourselves wanting to head to bed just a little earlier, and then to get up slightly later. Fortunately, our plans have often accommodated this need. However, a nasty cold has caught up with several of our kids, and we appreciate your continued prayer for our safety and good health in the travel ahead.

Our trip to-date:

Our summer odometer just broke 6,000 miles… and suddenly, that 10,000 mile estimate I’ve been throwing around seems slightly on the low side! We’ll shortly be on the road to South Dakota, with our arrival in Washington (and a quick trip to Oregon) not following too far afterward.

Thank you for joining us in prayer during this summer’s travels. We are grateful as you pray for safety on the road, for good health, for summer support-raising goals, and that we are able to encourage those with whom we meet. We hear so many stories of walking with the Lord through unexpected difficult seasons of change… a theme which strongly resonates with us, as we consider how God moved our family from Las Moras back to Chihuahua. Please pray that we all continue finding true rest in Jesus, the only Sufficient One… and lead others to Him as we rejoice together in His faithfulness.

Hey brother! When the Lord allows, it’ll be so good to see you. Thanks for continuing to pray for us on the road – it’s been good AND tiring, hah. He is so good, and faithful to sustain us… which has resulted in a lot of neat opportunities for fellowship around the country this summer. It has been a time of blessing, and we look forward to connecting with you again face-to-face whenever we can!

MAY THE LORD BE WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
HEALING THE FAMILY OF COLDS, AND ANY INFIRMITIES.
MAY HE PROVUDE ALL YOUR NEEDS, AND BRING YOU PEACE.
ALWAYS IN MY MEMORY, I HOLD YOU ALL IN MY HEART.

Cannon Beach is coming, and – Lord willing! – we will be there. Can’t wait to see you guys!!!

As for needs and wants, please keep us in prayer regarding our truck situation. We don’t know yet what the repairs will come to, nor what getting to the greater Seattle area is going to look like on a last-minute schedule. That’s probably the most prominent area right now.

Thanks, Gram – exactly how we’d have you pray! We met a lady at our hotel in South Carolina who told us she wanted to know God better, but didn’t know how… Amy and I loved talking with her over the course of an evening! Pray for Denise, that she hear God’s Word and come to know Him. Love you!
