Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

Where in the world are you?
This summer I will cover over 4,800 miles in five states (Missouri, Kansas, Michigan, New York, and Massachusetts) and three countries (the U.S., Canada, and Mexico). I will visit churches, work on raising support, and be presenting about what God has prepared me to do. I will be buying school books and working on lesson plans. I will also be sorting, packing, unpacking, putting stuff in cars, taking it out again, shifting it around, re-sorting, and re-packing. Fun, huh?

You Say Goodbye, I Say Hello
And what is the purpose of all this hoopla? To say goodbye before I head to Mexico! You all have been and continue to be a integral part of my team as I seek to do my part in fulfilling the Great Commission. On September 1st I will begin teaching a handful of missionary kids in a one-room schoolhouse setting. This ministry will enable their parents to begin the process of presenting the gospel to the Nahuatl people. I hope that many of you will be able to meet my partners the Davis family and the Alkire family as I am in Michigan this summer. We will be together at Wyoming Park Bible Fellowship on the 12th and at Pleasantview Family Church on the 19th. We want to share our vision to reach this people group with you, our team members in the U.S.

What’s to be done?
How can you be involved? Consider joining our team in one of the following ways:
Prayer Support—we need dedicated people to ask for God’s wisdom and blessing as we serve and to open the hearts of the Nahuatl to receive God’s message
Financial Support—I am looking for several families or individuals to take on 1% of my recommended support, or about $25 a month or give one time gifts towards building a house in the tribe
Building Support—I need talented men and women who know about construction, plumbing, and electrical work to consider taking a trip sometime next year to do all that nifty building stuff that I know nothing about

Sayin’ it Plain

As an English teacher, I often encourage my kids to avoid writing the same thing over and over. As a missionary, I need to say “thank-you” over and over and sometimes run out of creative ways to do so. So let’s keep it simple: THANK YOU. Your support, prayers, friendship, and encouragement mean the world to me. I pray that God blesses you the way that you have been a blessing to me.
