Summer Travelogue, Part I

May 30

Spent the previous couple days helping get ready for our dear friend Patrick’s wedding. Worked with flowers. Went shopping. Ran errands. Decorated the get-away car with icing from the cake. Just doing my part. =)

May 31
Took a trip to the E.R. with stomach pains. I’ve never been before, so I wanted to try something new. Although the doctors gave me some magical medicine that is taking care of the pain, I have to follow up with another doctor later to figure out exactly what is causing the problem. Please pray that I can get all the details squared away before I move to Mexico.

June 2
Flew out to New York to visit my Dad’s side of the family. I spent some of this time ordering books for next year and developing a game plan for teaching multiple grades at once.

June 8
Took an interesting bus trip to Massachusetts. (Bus travel is always interesting in my experience.) Spent some time with my friends and supporters out there, the Muttis. The Muttis have three sets of amazing neighbors, and I had a great time seeing them again and updating them on my plans for the future. Not to mention eating great food and playing some cut-throat Scrabble. If I ever retire, I might consider living permanently in the Mutti’s neighborhood…what a fun environment! I also got to hang out with my brother, who is working there this summer.

Drove back to New York with my brother. Got the chance to share at two churches in my grandma’s area and present about the work God is putting in front of me. As always, got encouraged again when I told the story of the many things God is orchestrating to make it possible for the Nahuatl to hear the gospel. What a privilege to be part.
