#3 Deal with Water

Water is scarce in this village, and making sure that we have what we need to drink, bathe, do dishes, and water a few plants is a constant battle.

During the summer months there is rain, so our team collects water in a holding tank. From October until the next July, however, it is possible that not a drop will fall from the sky. The creeks dry up and the springs don’t supply enough for our whole village, so that’s when things get tricky.

I spend time each week dealing with water. We haul water. Try to save water. Use water. Filter water. Move water from one storage container to another. Think and worry about where future water will come from.

I am sure it is not very godly to admit that I stress about this, but I do. I think more about water here in this village than I have in all the rest of my life combined. Water is a big deal and it takes up our time.

God has taught me a great deal through the absence of water. Check out some blog posts from the past that deal with this topic.
