The weather the past few days has been just beautiful! Today we have hardly a cloud in the sky and the humidity is just over 60%!
An entirely different picture than the day we arrived back in the village!
Before we took off in the single engine airplane, we knew there had been heavy rains in the village. The pilot was quite sure he could get us “home,” but then, once we were here, we were faced with crossing the river!
We landed on a very wet and muddy airstrip and indeed the rivers were full to overflowing. Praise the Lord for a safe landing and a safe river crossing. (We have a GREAT pilot!)
The following days would have been impossible to land the plane so our co-workers, Ron & Michelle, had to wait several days before they could come in.
Since being back we\’ve been working on getting rough draft translation work done for Ron. Lance finished the rough draft for Ruth and is continuing to work through the Psalms. It has been awesome to watch the response of his language helpers.
Ron and Michelle are getting the New Testament ready to print. We have decided to have the printing done in the US. Thanks to all those who have been praying with us about where to get it done. It seemed that everywhere we looked here became a closed door!
We would appreciate your prayers for us. We would like to take a quick trip home to visit our kids and GRANDkids, spending just a couple of weeks in both locations before returning here. We are thinking of using our “miles” which if the airline agrees, we may be able to fly for almost “free.” We’re just not sure what to do at this point so ask you to pray for us about it.
Thank you for your partnership in the ministry to the Higaunon people!
Ever Secure in Christ,
Lance & Laura
