‘Down to the wire’ revisited…

March 12, 2012 by Lance and Laura Ostman

Thank you

As we type this, we have 48 hours to our check-in time. Many of you have written assuring us of your prayers. Several have given towards our trip and also towards being able to see our daughter and her family. Praise the Lord, we have received enough not only for our trip, but also we have been able to purchase some needed items that we’ll use during our time there. Thank you to all who are praying and to those who have given.

We are reminded recently of Isaiah 30:21 that says, “Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.” God is directing our steps and we praise Him for it.

In our last update, we talked about how God has been confirming to our hearts that we are right where He wants us. Since our last email, we have had MANY more confirmations of his hand on our lives. To some, they may seem insignificant but let us share something that happened the other day. Laura “just happened” to open the zipper in the lining of her suitcase. I “just happened” to be looking over her shoulder. I noticed these plastic pieces held down by screws. These were holding the wheel assemblies onto the case. Each one of these plastic pieces were very brittle and fell apart when I touched them. We have two identical suitcases and they both had the exact same problem and they both would more than likely have fallen apart on our trip. What a faithful God we serve to show us the problem in plenty of time to get them fixed!

Also in our last update, we asked you to pray for our visas so we could visit our daughter and family. Thank you for praying! They arrived in plenty of time! The FedEx deliveryman said, “You’re the first person to open their package before signing for it.” Do you think he could tell we were just a little bit excited?

Please Pray

Please continue to pray for the following.
For safe and comfortable flights.
That we will get all the checking done on the Old Testament books that Lance has been working on. (Numbers through Judges)
For the tuberculosis outbreak. Ron & Michelle report that there are nine new cases.

Finally – Lance is signed up with our church to go to Haiti July 7-13. We have had a few gifts come in for this which confirmed that he should plan on going.
(For those who want to give to this, you can do so through this website: Aloma Church or you can send a check to:  (Payable to) Aloma Church 1815 State Road 436 WINTER PARK, FL 32792-2248 please specify that it is for Lance Ostman Haiti Trip. Thank you)

Secure in Christ’s love,

Lance & Laura
