Rejoice always,
pray without ceasing,
in everything give thanks;
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
1Th 5:16-18
As this week is our American Thanksgiving holiday, our thoughts turn to all who partner with us in the ministry to the Higaunon people of the Philippines, as well as others we minister to. We are truly thankful for each one who prays for us and for those who also support the ministry financially. We could not do what we do without you!
From November 13th through the 21st we were involved in the Facilitator’s Training Workshop for International Training Partners. The workshop was such a blessing to us and from all we heard, to everyone who attended. We are pleased to announce that our first opportunity to facilitate a Strengthening Your Interpersonal Skills Workshop will be June 2014, the Lord willing, in Manila, Philippines! Becoming facilitators will broaden our ministry opportunities and we are excited to see what God will do.
Lance continues to work on 2 Kings rough draft translation. Please pray for continued wisdom for this process. We look forward to being back in the village this coming February to do checking on 1 & 2 Kings, and hopefully the final check on Joshua & Psalms.
We are thankful that Typhoon Haiyan did no damage in our village, but our hearts break for those who lost loved ones, homes, possessions… The devastation has been horrific, as you’ve probably seen on the news. We have friends with the IMB who were in the storm, but by God’s grace survived. NTM Aviation is helping with typhoon relief (click here>> and here for more information).
Please pray for us as we plan to make a trip to Oklahoma to visit Robert and Ean, and to North Texas to visit some of Laura’s family for Christmas. We’re thankful to be in the USA to be able to visit family. Please pray for Nicole and family that they won’t be too homesick there in E Asia over the holidays. We sure do miss them, but are THANKFUL for good communication.
We praise God from Whom all blessings flow. Thank you for being part of our lives and our team in reaching the lost – whether here in the USA or in the Philippines. And for those here in the US, we pray you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Thankful to be His,
Lance & Laura
