Please pray!

March 17, 2015 by Lance and Laura Ostman

Luke 10:2 (NKJV)  Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

us in plane We are thankful that God has once again allowed us to be back in the Philippines working on Old Testament translation for the Higaunon.

We arrived safely in the village March 4th. Our house hadn’t been opened up in a while but for the most part, it wasn’t that bad. It took a couple of days to get it cleaned and a few days later we felt settled in. We are so thankful for two village friends who helped clean the house.

A week after our arrival the plane brought in a technician to set up the satellite internet connection. We are very thankful to be online again. The wonders of modern technology; that we can communicate instantly from the middle of nowhere is amazing!

PLEASE PRAY!!

A week ago after the Sunday morning service the church here sent out a survey team. They are visiting villages, looking for places that are open to hearing the gospel and being taught the Word of God.

The team plans to be gone for three weeks. Please pray for them as they’re hiking the whole way! Pray for good conversations and most of all that the Holy Spirit will guide and protect them.

Thank you for praying for the initial check of Isaiah. We’re making good progress. But one never knows what a day may hold. On our second day of checking, the conversation was going something like this:

Lance: “So you see that Israel was going through these things because of their own choices…”  Then Laura called: “Lance! The toilet isn’t working!” So, since we can’t call a plumber, my translation assistant and I took time out to fix the problem. Even though it involved opening the septic tank, it was an easy fix and we were soon back to work (after a shower of course.)

Please pray for clear understanding and that our translation assistant will not be hesitant to make any needed changes.

Thank you for your part in this ministry. We praise God for you who pray and give.

Secure in His love,

Lance & Laura
