Exceedingly abundantly…

October 26, 2015 by Lance and Laura Ostman

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, (Ephesians 3:20 NKJ)

Our first house guest! When we went to Florida to get our things from storage a friend from our church offered to drive the moving truck for us! He then paid for a rental car so we could drive in comfort. We had plans to visit friends in Alabama. Lance spoke in the Wednesday evening service at their church and we had eye doctor appointments. While we were in Alabama, our friend was driving the truck here to Oklahoma! He arrived on Wednesday afternoon and had help from our new church family unloading the truck and spent the night in our home. Our first house guest and we weren’t here to host him! On Thursday, he drove our car to the airport where he caught his flight back to Florida and we arrived at the airport to drop off our rental and pick up our car. God did indeed do “exceeding abundantly above all we could ask or think!” Ephesians 3:20

Awed!  We were given a lot of items by friends and by our church, so we are pretty well set up (just lacking a few things like a dining table and chairs, a lawn mower, a vacuumworking on translation cleaner, some other things smaller items of furniture, etc) We are mostly settled in now. Lance continues with translation of Jeremiah and that is going well. We are beginning to make plans for our next trip to the Philippines and in hopes of also visiting our family in East Asia too.

Back issues! While in Florida we went to our chiropractor who has so graciously taken care of us for many years. When he heard about the “drop foot” Lance had been experiencing for the past couple of months he sent him immediately for an MRI. The MRI showed 3 herniated discs one of which was bulging in his lower back. The doctor told Lance he didn’t want him lifting ANYTHING and he wanted him to have decompression treatments. LUMB 093015

Why are we amazed? God provided the help we needed to pack up the truck there in Florida and to have it unloaded here in Oklahoma. God also provided a chiropractor right here in town who does decompression therapy! Why are we still amazed at how our loving Father takes care of us?! We are so humbled at God’s grace and goodness expressed to us through so many in the Body of Christ.

Thank you for praying for Lance’s back as he is now having decompression treatments. Thank you for praying for the ongoing translation and for the work going on in the village there in Mindanao. We’re so grateful for all who partner with us in prayer and financial support so that we can do the work of the ministry to the Higaunon. Praise God with us for His wonderful provision for us of a home to call our own. We are enjoying it very much and having time with our son and grandson here.

Secure in Christ’s love,

Lance & Laura
