Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:10,11 (NKJV)
He said, “Do not be afraid” – that’s a tall order in this day and age. There are a lot of fearful people in the world today; but we know our lives are in God’s hands. If God says, “don’t be afraid” then we have nothing to fear! (though in our flesh we still have that fearful feeling at times)
The angel brought good tidings of great joy which shall be for all people! Are you praying? Because “all people” have not yet heard this good news! As we see what’s happening in the world today, maybe fear is one thing keeping people from hearing this “good news.”
When the Higaunon heard the gospel for the first time, they asked our co-worker, “How long have you had this good news?” When they heard that we’d had it for a long time, they asked, “What took you so long to get here?” How would you have answered them? And what what about those people who still don’t know about Jesus? Please pray and ask God to send people to those who need to hear about Him. Lance continues to work on the rough draft of Jeremiah. He has 183 verses to go as I type this. In our last update we said that he hopes to finish it before we fly to the Philippines, but it’s looking like he’ll finish it before then; maybe even before Christmas!! Thank you for praying!
We also shared in our last update that we booked our tickets for our annual trip as we found them at a good price. Click here if you want to help with this trip. Or you can write to us for more details. Thank you for praying for us! We need people to pray for God’s Provision and Protection as we go. Our goals this trip are to do the final check on Leviticus and the initial checking for Jeremiah along with a few other things that we’ll write about in a future update.
We trust you will indeed have a joy filled Christmas and a wonderful celebration of the New Year. Thank you for your partnership with us and God bless you!
Secure in Christ’s love,
Lance & Laura
