It’s Tuesday August 2 and we’ve been home a week already. How thankful we are for our own home! Praise God with us for a safe and successful road trip. What a wonderful time we had with family, friends and ministry partners! We had invitations to visit more of you, but we just were so tired and wanted to get home and settled. For those we didn’t see, thank you for understanding and most of all, thank you for praying for us!
There is good news regarding our coworker, Ron Jennings and our two translation assistants. Ron and Michelle have booked tickets to return to the Philippines at the end of this month. Ron is feeling better and is confident that the treatment he is on will work for the chest pain due to a blocked artery. They ask prayer that the medication he is on will be available in the Philippines. So please pray with us about that! The two translation assistants who had health issues are back home in the village and doing better also.Praise God with us for that!
Lance has been working on the initial draft of the book of Amos. It has been a challenge to translate! Please continue to uphold him in prayer as he works on translation. He plans to continue with translating the Minor Prophets for the Higaunon and hopes to have them all done before our next trip to the Philippines.
One thing about being in our village in the Philippines was that it was nice not being bombarded by the news media. Now that we’re back in the US we see how much turmoil is in the world. Job says in 42:2 “I know that You can do everything, and that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You.” Aren’t you thankfulthat we know God is in control?! Absolutely nothing catches HIM by surprise. We can trust our Sovereign God!
Thank you for your partnership with us as we continue to help equip the Higaunon church by translating the Old Testament in their language.
