Merry Christmas from our home to yours

December 13, 2016 by Lance and Laura Ostman

John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Merry Christmas

We love this season of the year where we take time to reflect and rejoice in all that was accomplished for us through the arrival of that babe – Immanuel, God in the flesh! What wonderful grace bestowed on mankind!

A visitor: We’re heading to the airport on the 21st of this month to pick up a visitor from east Asia. While Dan was at university in Australia she was befriended by Christians who lead her to Christ. When after seven years, it was time to return home, someone in her church family knew our daughter and family and put them in touch. We were privileged to meet her and when we heard she was coming to the US for a visit, we told her she needed to come visit us. Please pray that we’ll have an impact on her life.

January 16th is fast approaching, the day that we leave early morning out of Dallas. Please pray for the following: A few years ago when our daughter and family were visiting the Philippines for meetings and to have a break, we tried to get them into the village. It’s our desire for our grandchildren to meet the people who call their mom a daughter and friend. The weather did not cooperate then, but we’re going to try again. Please pray that this will happen and for all the expenses involved. On the 19th we’re scheduled to meet them at the airport and then head to our island. We’ll have a day or two to get ready before flying into the village. They will need to be back in Manila the following week for meetings.

Translation: Thank you for praying for the work on the Old Testament translation. The goal was to have the Minor Prophets ready for the initial checking during our time in the village. That goal will be realized as Lance is working on the last chapter. He saved Zachariah for last and the last three chapters are some of the hardest to translate. Please continue to pray for a clear translation.

Batteries: Finally, we received word that our battery bank is all but dead. We’re looking for two new batteries to help supplement the power supply as the commercial power in the village is unreliable. Please pray for all the details for this project.

Thank you so much for your partnership with us through prayer and giving.

May you have a most blessed Christmas!

Secure in Christ’s love,
Lance & Laura
