1 Thessalonians 5:23-25 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it. Brethren, pray for us.

Our last week: Our time here is quickly coming to a close. Please pray for us during our last week here in the village. We will be getting the house ready to leave it until our next return and saying goodbyes. Goodbyes are always difficult. Please pray for us as we say goodbye to our co-workers Ron and Michelle and the villagers. This is our sixth year of annual trips working on translation and it has been going well.

Leadership Seminar: On Wednesday Lance will be gone for the day. He was invited to speak at the Higaunon church leadership seminar being held in another village. To get there he will hike to the road and ride about an hour on a motorcycle. Please pray for his safety as he travels there and back. And pray for wisdom as he shares with the leadership the things that are on his heart.

Goals accomplished: We asked you to pray that we would meet our goals on this trip and, praise the Lord, we have. In preparation for this year’s trip, Lance had done the initial draft of the Minor Prophets books that hadn’t been done yet. He finished the initial checking of those books and then Ron was ready for them to do the final checking of Judges, Ruth, Jonah and 1 & 2 Samuel. We have finished those and Lance is putting them back into English to send to the translation consultant. It’s the consultant’s job to check our work for accuracy; the only way for him to do that is if we put the translation back into English, accurately reflecting what we’ve written in the tribal language. Please pray for wisdom as he checks the translation. It would be one thing if this was someone’s novel but this is the Word of God that we are talking about here and it needs to be ACCURATE! It’s a huge process but worth every bit of time and effort that goes into it. Wouldn’t you agree?

Returning to the US: The Lord willing we will leave the village next Monday, where we will spend a few days with friends and then make our way to Manila for a few days before our flight to the US on the 24th which is the day before Laura’s birthday. We will spend about a month in Oklahoma having medical work done and getting some rest before we do some traveling to see family and ministry partners, the Lord willing. If you want us to share in your church or small group, please get in touch with us.

hello from our jungle home!

Thank you: Thank you for your partnership through prayer and giving to see the Higaunon get more of the Scripture in their own language. We appreciate you so much.

Secure in Christ’s love,

Lance & Laura
