Greetings from Oklahoma! The calendar says it’s the first day of autumn, but you couldn’t prove it by us as the temperatures tell us that it’s still summer. Be that as it may, we’re thankful that we’re in God’s hands and that He is ever faithful.
Missionary Training Center
The first week of September found us in Missouri to visit the Missionary Training Center located on the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks. We were invited to take part in the prayer emphasis, speak in chapel and then a “candid conversations” that lasted close to two hours on our last evening there. We had a wonderful time with the students!
God’s people are praying for laborers and those students are an answer to prayer. We were very impressed with their passion and vision for their futures. We also enjoyed catching up with several friends we hadn’t seen in many years.
SYIS
Please pray as we prepare to help facilitate an SYIS workshop in Dallas next month. It will be a full workshop with 24 participants. While we’re preparing for that, Lance is also getting ready to help facilitate the online Course One (Serving others through listening well) that starts this coming week. And …. we are already planning ahead for our next workshop in Manila, May 17 – 22.
Travel
The end of October will find us, Lord willing, on the road again to participate in a coaching workshop at our offices in Sanford, FL. On the way there we’ll be visiting supporters in Alabama. After the workshop and after visiting some supporters in central Florida, we’ll be taking a side trip to visit supporters in Greenville, SC.
Philippines
Ron and Michelle are scheduled to be back in the village this coming week. They had a wonderful trip to visit their daughter and family in Papua New Guinea. They’ve been hearing from people in the village and all is well there.
Lance is just about finished with 1 and 2 Chronicles, comparing those passages that are the same, similar or completely different than those passages in 1 and 2 Kings. We’re hoping that 1 and 2 Chronicles and Ezra will be ready for a final comprehension check when we return to the village next year. And speaking of the Philippines, please pray as we’re starting to shop for tickets to leave the third week of January.
Thank you
We appreciate and need YOU – your prayers and financial partnership in the ministry to the Higaunon people and with SYIS workshops is vital. Thank you for all you do to help us accomplish our ministry goals.
Museum of the Bible
Finally, check out this letter from the Museum of the Bible. If you get to Washington DC, we highly recommend this museum and while you’re there, look for the Higaunon New Testament. A lot of work and a whole lot of prayer went into getting the New Testament into the hands of the Higaunon.
