Praise the Lord

January 7, 2020 by Lance and Laura Ostman

Higaunon
We’re looking forward to being back with these people.

Happy New Year: Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord! Psalm 150:6

Many of us remember twenty years ago before the New Year dawned there was great concern about Y2K?! Well, here we are in 2020 and it’s definitely a praise on our lips that God is good and worthy of all PRAISE! We have much to praise Him for in this new year!

Our trip: Two weeks from now we are scheduled to fly to the Philippines. We appreciate your prayers for good health, safety, wisdom in our preparation for leaving, and our time in the village checking translation.

We need to purchase our return tickets soon as we need them before our flight to the Philippines.  While we were praying about coming back through Hawaii to visit friends, our son asked if we would consider coming to visit them in Alaska. So we are planning on going there instead. It’s been over a year since we’ve seen Robert and Rhoda, and we’ve never been to Alaska – so it seems an ‘easy’ decision. We praise God for providing for our airfare. He has led several people to give ‘one time’ gifts that have supplied our needs.

doing the final comprehension checking

Please pray: Lance finished the initial draft of the book of Nehemiah and is going through it again, making changes as he finds things that need changing. He will go through it with his translation assistant in the village, as well as doing final comprehension checks on several Old Testament books with Ron and Michelle and the local translation assistants. Please pray!

Thank you: Thank you so much for your prayers and financial partnership with us in getting more of the Scripture into the Higaunon language.
