Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it. Brethren, pray for us.
1 Thessalonians 5:23-25 (NKJV)
Greetings from Oklahoma. We are thankful to be over jet lag! It seems that the older we get, the more impact it has on our bodies. Nevertheless, we are glad to serve the Lord and finally be able to travel back and forth to the Philippines. Thank you for your partnership with us allowing us to do what we do.
News from the village
We heard from our coworkers, Ron and Michelle, that they are settling in well and looking forward to getting back into working on the translation. They and we are rejoicing in the spiritual maturity that we are seeing in one of the Bible teachers. It is a blessing to hear him teach from God’s Word with such clarity. Please pray for the leadership of the church that they would continue to grow in their knowledge and application of the Word.
Equip Asia
We are excited to announce that we have an addition to our job description. “Equip Asia” is an online program that Ethnos360 started a few years ago. The purpose is to disciple students in their spiritual walk with the Lord. This will give them the tools to help them reach others with the gospel. Some of our students are already in ministry and others are working at various jobs. We are advisors to nine students who are embarking this week on this two-year program. As far as time commitment, we were told to expect an average of 12 hours a week.
Travel
Our daughter and her family arrived safely back in the States early Sunday morning. One of our supporters is gifting us two weeks at their rental house in the town where Laura grew up. The house is next door to the post office where Laura’s dad worked for many years as postmaster. We’re not sure how long we’ll spend in New York. It all depends on a place to stay after our time with Justin and Nicole. As we travel, we’ll still be working with Equip Asia and I’ll continue working on translation as I make my way through the rest of Ezekiel.
Interview
One day a couple of months ago during our coffee break, my translation assistant began telling me a story. I immediately asked him to stop so I could record it. It is about a conversation that took place when Ron and Michelle were getting ready to start teaching in 1983 and we were making plans to build a house and move into the village. Click here for the link to that video.
Thank you
Thank you again for your partnership with us in this ministry. As we traverse this broken world, we realize more and more that Christ’s return is imminent.
Looking forward to His return,
Lance & Laura
