>Hi and thanks for popping in!
Thank you very much for your prayers and letters of encouragement. Every day we understand even more the need for continual prayer support. As we face these people and the situation they are in we realize than only God can make a difference, through the working of his Spirit!
New Addition
Just thought of including a picture of the newest Laureti member! Marie is about 12 weeks pregnant and we are thankful that everything is going very well! Marie’s first scan went well, she got all the necessary checks and there is nothing out of the ordinary! It seems that we will be able to get the baby here in the country and that is very good news for I will have to focus on some work here in PNG and it will be much cheaper to stay here than to back to South Africa.
Pray with us for the health of both Marie and the baby! Also pray start praying for the salvation of the little one as well as all of our kids!
General news.
We are currently in a slower mode here in Papua New Guinea. We have finished our language learning and are busy helping out in different support roles. soon there will be the field meetings which will give is clear direction into where leadership would like to see us working in the future. There are basically two options for us and that would either to join one of the existing works in PNG who needs coworkers or to start a totall new work amongst an people group who do not have missionaries. Pray with us that the Lord would give us clear direction in these coming weeks. Here are two pictures of were we are currently working.
Every Sunday we have church services for all those on the base. this past Sunday we had the opportunity to make some music and to bring the word. I shared on Acts 1 and 2 and on the way the first church was planted. Again I was touched by the fact that God works through a broken and contrite heart! People who realize their need are forced to trust in God and this is echoed through their fervent and fiery prayer life, which eventually leads to the Spirit working in amazing ways! This is what we would like to see in our work as well! The Spirit doing the work. Here are some pictures of Marie and a friends making music and me sharing from the Word.
Even though things are a bit slower, our kids make sure to keep us running! We can just thank the Lord for the opportunity to have kids and to be able to raise them in a Christian home. Due to the fact there are many kids here in the two bases we have some opportunity to expose them to social events which they really enjoy!
Our kiddies.
The past weekend there was a ‘skate night’ at the one base and all the kids could dress up and bring their ‘scooters’ or ‘skates’ and join in the fun. there are always some races and this particular evening both Madeleen and Marlou won their events! I must say Madeleen was very surprised that she won due to the fact that she’s not really very sporty, rater more into books and art etc.
In the photo above and below they are all ready and dressed up to go. They chose to dress up as princesses and they truly looked just like 3 princess sisters, in the bush!
In the next photos you see each one standing by her scooter! Even Marlou is starting to come right with the scooter and will soon be racing and challenging the others.
The next picture shows them all together with one of the German friends that’s also staying here.
Madeleen just wanted me to publish the following picture. She told me that she’s not so much of a book worm as I may think. Here she is up in the top of the guava tree close to our house.
Thanks for giving, writing and praying, may God richly bless you!
And as the Papuan’s would say:
‘lukim ju sampla taim‘
Most People are brought to faith in Christ, not by argument for it,
But by exposure to it.
