At the moment we pray for the following:
– The mengen church – We are very exited about what the Lord is starting to do within the Mengen people group. The gospel was presented to the people in May of 2009 and we have a nucleus of about 45 new believers. We are now teaching through the 3rd phase of teaching which goes into through the book of Acts and starts to focus more on the form and function of Gods church as portrayed in Acts and also the working of the Holy Spirit in and through the believers of that time.
– That the Lord will touch the hearts of the people where we will be working with in the future. There are still another 10 000 people in or language group who needs to hear the truth. They know nothing of the truth, they cannot read or write, do not have a Bible in their own language and have never heard the gospel clearly taught in their own mother tongue. May the Lord thus speak mightily within their hearts and give them a thirst and hunger for the truth
Pray with us that the New Believers will truly have an impact upon the community and that they may truly be lights! Pray that people outside of our village will start hungering for truth and ask for teaching!
-We thank God for all our supporters. It is almost 3 years since we left South Africa and we receive faithful support from various people. We have been supported financially every month and could thus afford to live in a very expensive country, also have a medical emergency evacuation fund, afford homeschooling our kids with the ACE curriculum and have completed paying for our house. This is such a blessing and encouragement for us. Furthermore it is always a blessing to hear from you and we experience that your faithful prayer support makes a difference!!
We pray that the Lord will keep the fire burning in your heart that you will have a passion for this work and to be involved. We also pray for you that the Lord will work there where you are involved. We have made such wonderful friends and build beautiful relationships with many people and we cant help but share your burdens as well. Please let us know what is on your heart and we will pray for you.
– We pray for our children. It is important that our children will be saved. Madeleen, Naomi and Marlou shows positive signs that the Lord did a work in their lives but even so we would like to see a greater realisation of sin and repentance in their lives. Please pray that Liam will start to understand the teaching that comes his way as well.
God needs to look after our kids for they are growing up in a strenuous environment. I am often out till late and Marie will be working with ladies outside, discipeling and visiting. We also pray for their health and safety. Every wso often our children get sick with Malaria and other diseases as well as us. Here in PNG children can become very ill and they are exposed to bad elements. Many girls are being raped and molested. Please pray with us that the Lord will protect them. We also pray for their education, that Marie will be encouraged homeschooling them and that they will do well!
– We also pray for our family in South Africa. It touches us deeply, the sacrifice they must bring, and we do miss them . We pray that God will keep them in good health and help them with retirement plans. May the Lord provide for them as well. We also pray for our brothers and sisters and their children. My dad has been having back problems and struggles to walk lately. My brother, who is also a missionary is going through hard times himself. So please pray with us for our families.
– Our visit back in SA – We are planning to go to South Africa next year November or the year after. There are many factors to concider as we look at the church and teachers being available. Our responsiility will be towards seeing the church having continual teaching!
Greetings and blessings
