>Hi and thanks for popping in. Please check out all our links for some more pictures and info and prayer points!
Recently I visited the Mengen language group and we hiked around in order to set up a profile of the work and asses the needs there. It is situated close to an active volcano with some really remote hamlets and people groups!
Here is a typical Mengen hamlet. They tend to live together in family clusters.
When visiting one of the more northern villages in Mengen we were amazed on the animism still very much alive there.
The people performing a sing sing in our honour.
A structure used to collect food and then used in traditional rituals and festivals.
A carving made by the spirits in order to settle debts in the village. All the woman and children are made to believe this come from the spirits yet it is the men who carve it.
Here is a few pics of my feet during our recent hike in and around Le-Le. It reminds me of the words, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
Thanks for making all of this possible also for the people in Le-Le in the Mengen Language group! Pray with us as we consider to join a work here in the Islands of Papua New Guinea!
