Hi Friends,
In these days we are in living in very exciting times here in our little jungle village. You guys may have been following our news, and thus know about the road we have been travelling over the years. We praise the Lord that, after persecution and many struggles, the church is now starting to become a functioning body and we now have a group or men starting to function as teachers. This has not been a quick and easy road, as you could imagine. But God has been faithful in providing all that we need to see a self-sustainable church being established amongst the Mengen people.
We now have young teachers with Godly character trained in writing lessons from God’s Word and in formatting and editing it in such a way that it can be taught by them. Then we have them testing and evaluating the lessons and after all that is done we have them teaching it and doing discipleship afterwards until the next lesson is ready to be taught.
This week, I visited with some of these young teachers and one of them was telling me about how he felt just after standing for the first time and testing a lesson with a group of first time hearers. Brus said, “My stomach is cool as never before (he is experiencing peace). And this is because I know that I am now doing what God chose me to do even before he created the World. I now know there is only one thing that I want to to do with my life. I want to help people to escape eternal damnation by teaching them God’s Word. How can I ever want to do anything else again?” (Brus is sitting next to me in the picture)
I told Brus that we need to be thankful to all those who, although we do not know them, are doing other things at this moment so that we can reach out to those full-time who have not heard! Thanks for helping us and especially our co- workers such as Brus to reach the unreached.
Blessings and lots of love
Lourens for the Mengen Church
