Here we are again, 50 days before we leave for our HOME in Papua New Guinea
We have throughout the year tried to pace ourselves and make the best of each opportunity, tried to spread out our appointments so that no bottle neck happens at the end.. yet, it is busy!

We are having such a good time catching up with many friends that have supported us for many years. People who know our Mengen believers by name because they prayfor them often… people who stood behind us faithfullyfor a long time already, cheering us on, sometimes despite their own trials and tribulations
We are blessed and thankful, more than words can say. God is good and blessing us through your prayers, encouragement and financial giving. Thank you!

It is also a great encouragement in meeting many new friends. Believers that take their role as light bearers very seriously. This past Sunday night was such an occasion…we were invited by a young man from a church to come and speak to his group of friends. A bunch of students who want to hear more…when we got to the home where they meet, we were greeted by 50 Tukkie students… they welcomed us to their church. A church planted by this young man that invited us…that started off with 5 students in his flat, that has now grown to a church of a vibrant group of young people, excited about God, His Word and living for Him with their whole heart! We were so blessed by the fellowship we had with them. And seeing this group of young students gave us HOPE for the future of this country. What a relieve to know that we can be working in PNG because here are solid believers that will keep an eye on the home front. So thankful for God’s children taking their calling serious.

Our Madeleen is coming for a visit this coming Sunday. My parents and Madeleen are coming by bus and will be spending a few weeks here with us. It will be so nice to have my oldest daughter under my roof again. A daughter that we are so proud of. And tears are in my eyes, thankful tears for a God that cares and hear our prayers. This is all because of HIM and what he is doing in her life. Thank you for your prayers for Madeleen too and for your care for her… think of us too in the next 3 weeks… we want our time together be making precious memories…as at the end of this 3
Then at the end of this month, Lourens and I will be going to Mozambique where we will visit with New Tribes Mission Mozambique. We are looking
Liam, Marlou and Naomi are doing well too. Except for a very tight homeschooling schedule… but if I ask them if they regret going so much to the beach or visiting with cousins and friends while in the Cape, they smile and say, “No MOM!!!” They have done this furlough without any regrets… even if it now means waking up at 5 every morning and then do at least 8-10 hours of school… so happy with their good attitudes!

The girl’s smiles are extra precious as they now have very good looking teeth smiling at us… have I mentioned we are so grateful for the braces they got!!!

Liam is enjoying his cricket and rugby practices.,. though it will be short-lived, we are glad we were able to give him the opportunity. Not sure if it is just a mom/dad thing, but looks like our little boy has some talent… or maybe it is just that
And then lastly…
To summarize- here is how you can pray for us…
- Madeleen’s visit
- Mozambique trip
- Making where will decisions with our remaining time here in SA
- More of God, less of the self
- Money- we where will some finances for our return to PNG and for
month to month living expenses while in PNG. We are hoping to raise better financial support- pray with us for this
We leave for PNG, Lord willing July 28. On Lourens’s birthday. That’s what he wants for his birthday… a plane taking him to PNG.
We thank God when we think of you all
Marie and Lourens, Madeleen, Naomi, Marlou and Liam
