The months of August and September have flown by in a blur. We are so thankful for your prayers as we packed up our home in Papua New Guinea and prepared to head back to the US for these next months of home assignment.
Because Andrea was 7 months pregnant, we decided to “island hop” on our way home as a way to break up the long flight across the Pacific. With the help of rewards points and discount lodging provided by NTM, we were able to enjoy a few days of relaxing and unwinding before arriving in Maryland.
We want to thank you all for praying. We had a total of 7 flights and not one was cancelled and our luggage made it with us every step of the way! And other than a little bit of swelling and lots of bathroom trips, Andrea & Baby Wilson weathered the trips well. We arrived in Southern Maryland and were spoiled by some friends as we waited for our apartment to be made ready.
It’s a Girl!!!
Just a few days after arriving we had our first OB/GYN appointment. Andrea and our baby girl are doing well. These next few weeks promise to be busy ones (of course not as busy as the weeks after her arrival!!!) as we prepare, take child birth classes and have more and more doctor appointments. Pray that we set aside time for the Lord and for each other.
(FYI: All are invited to a baby shower being hosted at South Potomac Church on Sunday, October 16th).
PNG News
In our last update, we mentioned that evangelistic Bible teaching would soon be starting amongst the Siar people (located in the islands region of Papua New Guinea). They are now well past their 12th week and have been introduced to Jesus the Lamb of God! The missionaries have been very encouraged as folks come to an understanding of who Jesus truly is. (As we are sending this update out, they will be presenting the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus).
The missionary team is asking for prayer as they get closer and closer to presenting the Good News. Recently several distractions have arisen that threaten to pull many from the teaching.
Prayer Requests
- Bible teaching amongst the Siar people — pray for minimal distractions and open hearts to the truth.
- A healthy pregnancy and arrival of Baby Wilson due mid November.
- Wisdom as we continue to seek out how to treat Paul’s severe allergies. (He really is looking forward to winter!)
- More laborers for the Lord’s work in PNG.
