Adventures In (an) Odyssey

We thank the Lord for your prayers and support that have made these last (almost) 2 months possible.  We left PNG in early June and after flying almost 10,000 miles, we landed in Dallas, Texas.  There we got our new-to-us minivan and hit the road!  Thanks MATS.org.  We enjoyed seeing folks and churches in the DFW area, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska and Missouri.  We were also able to have a mini memorial for Paul’s mom in the Rocky Mountains (picture above).

This first road trip ended with a visit to the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter.  This has been on our “bucket list” for years and we are so thankful to finally be able to do it.  We would highly recommend the visit. It was a neat treat to be able to sit in on a lecture by founder, Ken Ham, and briefly meet him afterwards. …And yes, earlier in our trip our first Buckie’s experience. Fun, but let’s just say the lesser of the two experiences.

While the travels were exhausting, it was wonderful being able to visit with so many folks, reconnect and share a little of what God is doing in our lives and PNG.

We Thank God For You!

After putting over 4,000 miles on our van, we are now settling in Southern Maryland for the next month.  In between visiting with family and friends, we are tackling some doctors’ appointments all while starting up homeschool.  Currently our plans are for Paul to head to Arizona in early August to collect things we left there 3 years ago.  Then in early September we will head to Michigan (and hopefully visit some friends in PA and NY along the way).  We are looking forward to reconnecting with folks at Skiff Lake Bible church as well as attend Alongside (a 3-week care retreat for ministry workers).

Thankful for:

  • Safe flights with ZERO cancelations! Thanks for praying!!!
  • The Lord’s provision of a great working minivan! (Go MATS!)
  • The Lord’s provision for the funds to stay in an AirBnB while in Maryland.
  • The “good-byes” and “see-you-laters” in PNG were hard but we are thankful for technology that allows Phoebe and Josh to stay connected.
  • The continued advancement of the gospel and maturity of the believers in PNG.

Praying for:

  • For Paul as he heads to Arizona to collect our stored items.
  • Wisdom as we plan out this next road trip.
  • Diligence to homeschool when we can.
  • An increase in our monthly support.
  • Wisdom and discernment with family matters.
