Road Trip
- This little piggy went to Bolivar, MO via W. Virginia, Kentucky, Illinois and Indiana. We had a great overnight visit with Paul’s friends from Bible school days. It was great to re-connect as well as meet some new folks starting up a Christian aviation business at the local county airport.
- This little piggy went to Parsons, KS which wasn’t far and that was good for us. We spent a couple days with Paul’s parents visiting, doing laundry and spoiling on Phoebe (grandparenting!).
- This little piggy went to Tulsa, OK (and back to Parsons) for a four day mission’s conference at Tulsa Bible Church. We enjoyed representing NTM and also getting to know the wonderful folks there at TBC. During this time we meet the Arterberrys who are preparing to head to Papua New Guinea with NTM. We were able to get to know them and chat up PNG with their kids. God’s timing!
- This little piggy went to Wichita, KS to overnight with friends from PNG. Our Phoebe got to meet their Kerissa who is only two weeks younger. Phoebe’s first girl friends sleep over.
- This little piggy went to Platteville, CO to visit with one of our long time supporter friends’ home. They are now retired and we were all able to spend more quality time together than our previous visit. We were also able to visit with more friends, supporters and Paul’s nieces.
- This little piggy went to Walsenburg, CO for a fast visit with Paul’s brother and his beautiful fiancée.
- This little piggy went to rural Burns, KS to overnight with supporter friends who are a “real” cowboy family. While there we were able to share dinner with their pastor, another of Paul’s friends from Bible school, his wife and newborn son.
- This little piggy went to Jackson, MI via Parsons, KS (for a last visit for grandparents), Springfield, MO (for a look and lunch at the giant Bass Pro Shop) and IL, IN once again (but a different path). While in the Jackson area we were part of a mission’s conference with Skiff Lake, one of our supporting churches. This time we were one of those in the spot light and no light duty. We had a wonderful time sharing what God is doing in our lives and in PNG. All the while this church body spoiled on all six of us visiting missionaries…..especially Phoebe, with a gift card baby shower! This was truly a refreshing time of fellowship and spiritual challenge.
- This little piggy went to Jersey Shore, PA to visit with Andrea’s friends via Niagara Falls, Canada. We enjoyed an overnight at the ever magnificent falls where we were able to get in some much needed walking. Then we stayed at NTM’s Wayumi campus near Jersey Shore and had a look into what goes on there as they help educate folks about tribal missions.
- This little piggy went ALL the way home to Newburg, MD….and slept for several days… we only wish. All our little piggies are now very busy packing and preparing for their departure to PNG in about a month.
Friends
We praise God for allowing us the time to connect and reconnect with so many of you. Obviously we were not able to include all our supporters, family and friends in our road trip. Sori tru. (We are very sorry.)
We want to say welcome to those of you who are new to our newsletters. Thanks to everyone for being interested in what God is doing in and through our lives.
We want to thank all of you who hosted us, feed us and otherwise spoiled us. Thanks also to all those who were praying for our safety. We had no car problems and only one scary driver to report (not Paul or Andrea). :^)
Prayer:
- We travel to NTMA Headquarters in McNeal, AZ for Easter week.
- We are packing and preparing for our return to PNG (including buying airline tickets).
- We are sharing with Independent Bible Church in McNeal, AZ and our home church of South Potomac Church; that God would work in and be glorified by what we say.
- We are currently at 60% of our NTM recommended support level for a family of 3.
Praise:
- We had an incident free road trip of 4,975 miles (and 41 dead skunks). There was a close call with a D.U.I. driver that we were behind, but even that had a safe conclusion.
- We were spoiled on, prayed for, loved on, feed well and reconnected with lots of folks.
- God provided for our expenses through his body of believers.
