Have you ever thought about how important teamwork is? I Corinthians 12 tells us how important the Body of Believers is. How about in terms of missionary work? We hope you see yourself as part of the team. Those who pray, give and encourage are a vital part of seeing Christ preached to the unreached. What about support workers? (You might be asking “what is a support worker?”) In terms of missionaries, a support worker is anyone whose main ministry is not church planting/discipleship. As an aircraft mechanic, Paul is a support worker….helping to keep our planes and helicopters flying so our missionaries in the tribal locations can continue to share Christ. You name it, there is a support worker position. In Papua New Guinea, we have support workers who are teachers, nurses, accountants, construction workers, pilots, administrators….the list really could go on and on. And did you know that not all support workers live overseas? Some live here in American (or Canada, or the UK or…). They help run our training facilities, manage accounts (foreign and domestic), facilities maintenance, member care, shipping/receiving….I think you get the picture.
Is this southern Arizona?
It has been just over a month since we have last sent an update. It’s a new year and we are in a new location! Since last writing we have moved from Maryland to southeastern Arizona. Why Arizona? It is the home of Ethnos360 Aviation. We are here for Paul to get as much training as he can on the new Robinson R-66 helicopters that we are going to be using in PNG. (The Lord has already provided one….it is here and soon will be packaged and shipped for its voyage!) Currently he is helping/learning how to rebuilt the trainer R-66 helicopter. He will do one class here, taught by a fellow Ethnos360 missionary and hopes to do another in California. We asked you to pray and the Lord provided the money for this second class (and then some). Now we are waiting for the class and hope that it doesn’t cancel for a 3rd time.
We are tremendously blessed to be a part of this wonderful team that is sharing Christ with the world!
