When we arrived at the airport I (Phil) got to meet my nephew Rowan for the first time. He wasn’t sure what to make to make of his uncle or his beard – he’s not the only one!

Thank you for praying for our trip. It was long but uneventful, praise the Lord. Besides a little jet lag and a cold that followed me (Elin) here from Africa, we are all doing well. Please pray for us as we readjust to life here in the US as well as for this upcoming week. […]

We are in the final stages of packing our house up. Slowly but surely things are coming down off of walls and shelves and into boxes and trunks. With only 2 weeks to go before we leave the pressure is on to get all the packing done.

On Thursday we celebrated Callie’s 12th Birthday! Not a big party but fun nonetheless!

During our time in the city I (Phil) was able to take the kids to the local museum of ethnology. I remember visiting years ago and this time the kids came along. They enjoyed seeing in a museum many things they see every day in the village.

Our friends where we are staying, have a lovely black lab that our kids have officially adopted. The dog devotedly follows them all over the house and they love her companionship!

While Phil is away on survey, the kids and I (Elin) will hang out here in the city, visiting with friends. We enjoy having the time to connect with folks and also to skype friends and family in other parts of the world (something we can’t do from the bush).
