Elias loves games, so when he heard we were playing Bingo in literacy class, he joined in! The students were all shocked to see him be able to identify the syllables right away and even win!

No, those aren’t a rare kind of pink monkeys! It is just Callie and a couple of friends in South Africa having some fun!

We have been enjoying our time in South Africa. Last week Elias and I (Phil) we were able to visit Kruger National Park in an open safari vehicle. We got to see many amazing animals like elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, hippo, wildebeest, kudu, etc.

We took Callie and Elias to visit an elephant sanctuary. The got to pet, walk, and ride an elephant. Here they are walking a young elephant.

South Africa can get very cold. A couple of mornings we found our car covered with frost. We even found a little frozen rain/sleet accumulated outside one day. There was just enough for Elias and I to scrape together two small snowballs and have a (very short) snowball fight!
