„And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Phil.4:7
Without the peace of God, who can be at peace at a time like this? We can because we know the God who IS peace himself and who gives it to us in times where we don’t know what will happen next and how to deal with changes, sickness and the unknown. Our God is in control and He knows everything… we can rest in that! Let us take rest in HIM!
Return Back To PNG
Our time on home assignment in Germany is slowly coming to an end, or is it? We were and still are planning on returning to PNG in August this summer but right now we just don’t know if that will be possible. Right now the borders of PNG are closed and to find tickets to fly back is very hard or even impossible. There aren’t many confirmed Corona cases in PNG yet, but we are watching closely how things develop and as soon as a door (or border and flight 😊) opens we will be ready to go. Please pray with us that things will work out for us to get back to PNG soon if that is what our Lord wants for us!
Our Co-workers
Our co-workers, the Markleys, flew back on their home assignment earlier than planned and still have a few days left of living in quarantine before they need to find out where they will be living for the next year. Please pray for them as they are still deciding and waiting to see what awaits them during their time in the US. Our other co-workers, the Smiths, are in PNG and are working hard to keep the church planting efforts going. Gary is currently working as the personnel director for the whole field of NTM in PNG while Esther is consulting the many families in their homeschool situations. Please also pray for them as things right now are hard for them (homeschooling their 2 boys, because the mission school is closed, potential unrest in town, government restrictions etc.). Since health care in PNG is in bad shape please pray for the church plants and all the missionaries there that they would stay protected from complications and the virus itself!
Dinangat Church Leaders On Discipleship Trip
Just recently we were able to talk to our co-workers over Skype and hear some good news about the Dinangat church! About a month ago the two elders and five Bible teachers were able to make a trip to another village with an older church plant. The leaders and believers there have many years of church life experience and were thrilled to welcome our DIN leaders into their place for 10 days to encourage, teach and disciple them. During that time our DIN leaders were able to meet different leaders of that village to sit down and learn from them. They talked about marriage, child raising, discipleship, church discipline, teaching and other similar topics. They were also able to ask many questions and hear and learn from older PNG church leaders like they have never been able to before.Super Encouraged and totally motivated they returned to Dinangat. With the Lord‘s help they are now motivated to put many of those things that they learned into practice there. Please pray for them that they would stay encouraged and motivated and that they will see the Dinangat church continue to grow and mature as a body that glorifies and honors God!
Until we can return to PNG we continue to work on the Dinangat Bible Translation, are slowly getting ready to leave for whenever the Lord allows and are also enjoying this beautiful spring time with our whole family! Thank you so much for your prayers and support, we really appreciate you all so much!!!
Shalom! Peace be with you!
