GOD HAS OPENED THE DOORS for me to work at New Tribes Mission’s Communications Department.
New Tribes accepted me as an associate missionary in October, and I completed pre-field orientation in November. I plan to move to Florida this March and work as an associate missionary for two to four years. We’ll see where God leads after that!
Working through NTM, missionaries evangelize people groups who have had no access to the Gospel, translate the Scriptures into their language, and plant a church. NTM is working in 269 people groups. Over 900 churches have been planted and 44 New Testaments completed. In 2007, 12 new works opened and 12 tribes heard the Gospel for the first time.
A theme verse for my coming ministry is Psalm 96:3 “Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples.” The communications department helps missionaries tell their stories of God’s work among tribal people and promotes opportunites for you to be involved in tribal missions.
I will join the writing team, which contributes to daily web articles, a monthly Tribal Beat story, the quarterly magazine NTM @ Work, and radio announcements. In addition to writing, I plan to work on short videos for the web. How exciting to see God bring together two of my passions – missions and communications!
Stepping out by faith in this new venture, I’m encouraged by how God provided in the past through many of you. When I took a trip to Guinea, W. Africa, God provided above and beyond my expectations in many areas. He answered prayer for strength, sent a friend on the trip with me, and provided finances abundantly. Now, going forward, the same God who provided in the past, will continue to provide for my present and future.
Currently, I’m at 49% of the recommended support level. I am trusting God to raise the needed prayer and financial support. God loves to provide for us one step at a time, as He has done through churches and individuals so far! I praise God for each one of you who have joined my support team. Thank-you!
