FOUR GREEN LEAVES AND SOME SAGO PASTE
That’s the first meal believers shared together at gathering hosted by the Ama people in Papua New Guinea. Food was one meal per day for 400 people that came from various languages all around. Imagine 61 people, crying babies sleeping in one rainy hut! But the Spirit of God was also there in their joyful attitudes. Faithful Siawi men clearly shared the gospel. Another tribal group sang about how all believers from various language groups and families were going to Heaven together. Because of your faithful support, a team of missionaries reaching out and God’s Spirit building the tribal church, believers exist in this little corner of the islands.
PLANTING IN THE GARDEN; WILL ANYTHING GROW THIS YEAR?
When my spring garden was killed by the frost this year, I debated whether I should replant it or not! But then I remembered the fruit from my efforts last year, and how gardening is a good skill to cultivate! I need to log the problems and solutions I’ve faced- squash not pollinating, bugs, bean rust, fungus, seeds not sprouting and failed solutions, like ripping off most of the bean leaves! Nevertheless I am determined to persevere. Just an hour a week in the garden at my church may yet yield fruit. How much more important to abide in Christ, despite the distractions of life, to yield fruit that remains?
PRAYER NEEDED: DEFINING 2013 MINISTRY GOALS
What does God want to do through my ministry this year? Romans 15:30 was so encouraging to me where Paul asked the believers to pray with Him.“I appeal to you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God on my behalf.” Just as Paul had a team and needed prayers, I too need your prayers. Will you pray that God will grant my team wisdom in laying out a plan for the next few year’s video projects? We have ideas and dreams and limited time and resources. Please seek the Lord with me on what concrete steps we can take and plan for.
