Helping the Wayumi Retreat in Pennsylvania

March 27, 2013 by Regina Rodman

New Tribes has a great program in Pennsylvania called Wayumi, where youth can go experience missions for a day, or for a summer or winter camp experience.  College groups can take a week-long course about missions; in fact Liberty University sends students there each year.  New Tribes Bible Institute sends its seniors there on their Senior Retreat.  Church groups or individuals can go for a weekend experience.

It’s all about figuring out how you can be a part of reaching tribal people.  It takes a team, and it’s not just the missionaries on the field all by themselves.  It also takes time, and you get a better feel for culture and language learning from a visit to the Wayumi village.

What does that have to do with me?  Well, we have a section on our usa.ntm.org website that needs updating every so often.  New forms, text changes, or marking dates as “FULL”.  They also have form applications online and I’m often tasked with completing these tasks when the email comes across my desk.  Though I mainly do video editing, we do have a small team here and sometimes fill in for other needs.

It’s exciting to see people learning more about tribal missions, being challenged to get involved, and being impacted for missions at a young age.
