“Yo budi” is the Nakui word for saying “yes possibly”. And it is a reminder of James 4:14-15 – “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” Lately I’ve been listening to some messages by Chip Ingram at LivingOnTheEdge.org that have been encouraging and one of them was on James 4 about not arrogantly planning apart from God and doing the good that God prompts us to do. Friends tell friends about Chip!
So “Yo budi” I’ll be going up to Michigan to visit my sending church and attend their Global Outreach Conference. I’ve been looking forward for several years to attending. This is the year! Please pray for my preparations as I’ll be putting together six presentations for that weekend. Also pray that I’ll be able to connect with everyone at the church during the week that I’m in Michigan, as well as other partners in the area.
As things turn out the Monday following the conference, Lordwilling, I’ll be driving up to Wisconsin to film a video shoot at the Bible college. I’ve never driven more than five hours by myself before, so pray that God will give me safety. Also I may be able to visit some partners in this area, so please pray that God will work out those details as well. We have a tight deadline on this video in October, so pray that I’ll be able to edit quickly and co-ordinate with our colorist and composer in a timely manner.
These verses were encouraging to me lately from the NLT:
23 The Lord directs the steps of the godly.
He delights in every detail of their lives.
24 Though they stumble, they will never fall,
for the Lord holds them by the hand.
There are so many details that it feels like things are spinning – but God delights in every detail and He knows the way!
