You know it’s bad when you want to skip the women’s retreat on resting in God so you can work. Sigh, but two people encouraged me to go so I did. I wish I had more time to work on messages for next weekend, but I trust God’s timing in it all.
Basically, I have been gone for about a month since July 13th and I have several unfinished video projects waiting for me…a couple of web projects put on my plate on my return…a new urgent video project our team is working on…and a partnership trip to Michigan to prepare for. At least I have plane tickets and rental car!
At the retreat on Saturday, I was especially stressing that I needed to be home working on messages… but I trust that my stress level so so high I just needed to have that weekend away to try to return to normal functions.
My favorite part though, was the Friday night session at the retreat. It was especially good about resting in God and entrusting our schedule to Him, following His leading for each day not our plan. The teaching was based off Psalm 37.
It was called Soul C.P.R. (Link to Amy’s blog here.)
Commit your way to God
Place your trust
Rest in God
And that is something I can keep using this month, and the next, and the next.
When I feel-overwhelmed by things — just commit it to God and stop worrying! Rest in Him to bring it to pass.
And my next study is going to be “Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World.” I’m sure that will be encouraging too!
What have you found that helps you rest in God?
