We just released two new Spanish videos today!
What’s the process for a Spanish video? Well, we take the English script (after I check it against the final video) and condense it a little if we can since it takes more words in Spanish to say the same thing. Then I send it off to our Spanish Resources team where Steve Irwin translates the script. He works with an audio-dubber in Mexico who records the voices to the movie and then Steve sends me the .wav audio file. I take those files and mix it with the music and sound effects track. Then run it by our team here – and Macon Hare – who is about the only one who speaks Spanish – just for a final check. And then we are off to exporting…
Where does it go? Well, it is shared through social media channels like Youtube, Facebook and placed on our Spanish website – espanol.ntm.org. It is posted on the members website for those members in NTM that can share it with Spanish churches and friends. The video are also shared with our Latin reps in South America. It’s neat to be part of a global team.
And how encouraging to hear back from a Colombian missionary recruiter:
“The new videos are truly excellent. Thank God for this new [modality/type] of mission videos because they really are very useful, and most importantly, as far as I’m concerned, they are our own!!! The era of having to use videos from other missionary agencies is over.”
