Albuquerque is a big place!

After 6 months in NM, we are finding out just how big a place ABQ is. It is located within Bernalillo county, which has a total area of 1,167 square miles, of which 1,161 square miles  is land and 6.4 square miles is water (this beach lover can’t seem to find the water). The map shows a few of the churches we have been working to make contact with. Population is approaching 700,000. We’ve had some success finding a few folks familiar with NTM, however there is a lot of work to do. When most people hear New Tribes Mission, they ask Navajo? Pueblos? Apache? We’ve had to change our vernacular and go with “NTM, one of the largest mission agencies in the world and we work with unreached people groups.” Little by little we are learning the language and culture of NM.

We’re grateful to be settled in our new home after 4 months of looking. God has provided just the right place, within 5 minutes of Mike and Rachel. Our whole family was able to visit for Thanksgiving, right after we moved in so we had room for everyone between our two places. What a joy to have everyone together.

We are now underway in our new ministry, looking for opportunities to speak and get the word out about the 2,500 unreached people groups who do not have the first Word of God in their language. We’re praying and trusting the Lord to open doors and hearts and as a result there will be new students for NTBI and laborers for the mission field who will give their lives for the sake of eternity.
