Palm Sunday among the Agutaynens

March 16, 2008 by

Claire with palm branches

If you would observe the Agutaynens, you could easily think that they are Christians. But in reality, they have simply mixed the teaching of the "local church" with their animism. Satan has deceived them by giving them a small portion of the truth, without the whole Truth. For example, today was Palm Sunday. Several Agutaynens remembered Jesus’ Triumphant Entry into Jerusalem by taking palm branches with them to the "church". There, the palm branches were “blessed”. The Agutaynens then take these branches to their homes or to their rice fields to assure safety, good health, and a bountiful rice harvest. As you can see, they have a bit of the truth, but Satan has deceived them into putting their trust in a branch instead of the Creator of that branch, our Savior Jesus Christ.

This week, for us, is a week of rejoicing in Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection. However, the Agutaynens still fear God’s wrath and search for how they can try to appease it. Please continue to pray for their salvation.
