What is it?

This is a fun page that is intended to give you a glimpse into the lives of the Agutaynens.  You will be given the opportunity to see a small clip of a bigger picture.  Can you guess what the picture is by only seeing a small clip of it?  Let’s give it a try.

What is this a picture of?  Do you know?  If you guess a flower, then you are on the right track. The next picture is the whole picture:

The correct answer is:  Bird of Paradise flower.  As you can see, these girls are standing next to several of these flowers.  Agutaynens in general like to have flowers in their yards.  Common flowers would be orchids, Easter lilies, and more.  For the Agutaynens, flowers aren’t just for the beautification of one’s yard.  If you would like to know why else they put these flowers in their yards, just send us an email and we will share that with you.

Let’s give you another try.  Here is another clip for you to guess what it is.

What do you think this clip is a picture of?  If you have guessed harvested rice, then you are close.  If you have guessed a water buffalo, you then are even closer.

The correct answer is harvested rice being transported by a water buffalo and an Agutaynen.

This next clip reflects the season that is celebrated among the Agutaynens September through December of every year.

Well this shouldn’t be too hard.  Of course, it is a star, but what kind of star?

This is a Christmas Star.  These are used to decorate both the homes and the elementary school in our village.

Keep scrolling down to find more clips and more opportunities for you to get a glimpse into the lives of the Agutaynens.

What is this a picture of?  Do you know?  Stroll down to find the answer.

The picture is a pile of flip-flops at an Agutaynen home.  Did you get it correct?  Here is the the bigger picture.

According to Agutaynen culture, a happy home is a home with many visitors.  This Agutaynen home is very happy.

Below, you will continue to find more clips and more opportunities to get a glimpse of the Agutaynen lives.  We hope you enjoy this and will come back as we add more pictures.

What is this picture of?

Hopefully this was an easy clip for you.  What do you think it is?  If you guessed a weather thermometer, then you were right.  As you can see, it gets hot in the Philippines.  Here is the “big” picture.

How about another try?  What is this picture of?

If you guessed fish, we will give it to you.  Actually, it is fish drying.  Agutaynens not only catch fish, but they also dry it in many ways.  These fish are strunged together and hanging from a piece of bamboo.  Here is the “big” picture.

We have more picture clips to share with you.  Hopefully, we will add more on a monthly basis and you can try again.  New pictures will always be the first pictures on this page so you don’t have to stroll down to the bottom.
