This last year our Agutaynen Team has been scattered around the world. Our family has continued on in the village. Our partners, the Zimmermanns, have been in Germany for medical reasons. And our partners, the Stroud-Lusks, have been teaching this last year in an MK (missionary kid) school in Manila.
The Stroud-Lusks came back to the village on July 1st and we are so thankful to have their family with us. They will be able to stay in the village with us for nearly a month, before they return to the MK school to teach for another school year. Mostly, we are just thankful to have the fellowship and help in making the daily decisions for needs that come up among the Agutaynens. Please be praying with us that the Stroud-Lusk’s time in the village will be encouraging for them.
During their visit we have some projects we hope to accomplish. The biggest project will start on Thursday, July 10th. We will be building a simple bathroom. Back in 2006, our team signed a contract with the village leaders. We needed to do this in order for all of our families to be able to live in this village, and rent homes from families here. As part of that contract, we agreed to finance the building of a health center (that is staffed by government workers), as well as a bathroom for the health center. Our team was able to finance the building of the health center a couple years ago. Now, while the Stroud-Lusk family is with us in the village, we will work on adding a bathroom to that health center. Please pray that everything goes smoothly, and for safety for the men as they work.
Also, we just heard from the Zimmermann family. Nadine has been feeling better, and has been able to sleep more at night. Praise the Lord! They have also booked their tickets to return to the Philippines in February 2009! Again, praise the Lord! We look forward to their return!
