Braces to Brace

September 28, 2014 by Stephen and Ginger Jordan

Abigail & Rebekah
Abigail & Rebekah

We are now only a few short weeks away from boarding the plane that will take us back to the States. In preparation for our return, Rebekah’s orthodontic braces have just come off and she is all smiles.  During the last 24 months, Rebekah has had an expander, two canines surgically pulled into place, braces, and four molars extracted.  No wonder, at the end of this journey, she is now all smiles.

On the other hand, Abigail has an appointment in the States to hopefully get a brace for her scoliosis and she is less than excited. We have monitored her spinal curves for the last three years and they have increased only slightly.  However, many believe she should be in a brace to prevent further increases in her curves.  We are hoping she will be fitted for a “night-time” brace, which only needs to be worn while she sleeps.  Abigail is happy to be able to get this type of brace rather than the one available here in the Philippines which is hard, bulky, and very uncomfortable.

So, praise the Lord with us for Rebekah who is now braces free. Please pray for Abigail and the many doctor appointments we will have this year in Michigan for her scoliosis and for fitting & adjustments of the brace.  Thank you very much.
